راکی می تواند با چنگال قدرتمندش، بازی یک انسان را قطع کند.

یک خرچنگ آبی چنگال قرمز با جثه ای به بزرگی یک کودک سه ساله و بیش از ۱۲ کیلو وزن، روز پنجشنبه (۲۳ فوریه) در آبهای ساحلی ایالت مین آمریکا، رها سازی شد.

این خرچنگ که می تواند با چنگالهای قدرتمندش، بازوی یک انسان را قطع کند، هفته گذشته در یک تور صید میگو به دام ماهیگیران افتاده بود و از آن زمان تا لحظه رها سازی، در آکواریوم ایالتی نگهداری شده بود.

بر اساس قوانین حفاظت از شیلات در ایالت مین (واقع در شمال شرقی ایالات متحده آمریکا)، ماهیگیران ملزم به رهاسازی خرچنگهایی هستند که طول بدنشان، از سر تا آغاز دم، از ۱۲ سانتیمتر بیشتر باشد.

به گفته ایلین جونز، مدیر آموزش اداره منابع شیلات ایالتی، دانشمندان موفق نشدند در این مدت طول عمر دقیق این خرچنگ که راکی نامیده شده را، محاسبه کنند.

بر اساس کتاب رکوردهای جهانی گینیس، بزرگترین خرچنگ آبی چنگال قرمز با ۲۰ کیلو وزن در سال ۱۹۷۷ در آبهای ایالت نوا اسکوشیا کانادا صید شده است.

با توجه به اینکه راکی در مدت اسارت به دمای آب در آکواریوم ایالتی عادت کرده بود، مسئولان شیلات به جای رها سازی او در اقیانوس، را در نقطه ای از آبهای ساحلی که شرایطی نزدیک به آبهای آکواریوم دارد رها سازی کرده اند.
